Professor Kai-Xian Chen, Ph.D.
Kai-Xian Chen, Ph.D., joined our Board in 2018 and serves as a member of the Research & Development Committee.
Professor Chen brings to our Board an extensive and distinguished scientific and academic background and considerable service as a member of several prestigious Chinese institutional and research organizations and as a member of the board of directors for various biopharmaceutical companies.
Professor Chen has significant experience in drug research and development in China. Since 2001, Professor Chen has served as a member of the Chief Specialists Board and the deputy chief technical officer for various major science and technology projects, serving as a scientific advisor and promoting research and development of innovative drugs in China. He has also served as a professor at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (“SIMM”) Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1990 and at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 2004.
In addition to serving on our Board, he also serves on other public company boards, including Innovent Biologics, Inc. (HKSE) since 2018; Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (SSE) since 2019, and InnoCare Pharma Limited (HKSE) since 2020.
Professor Chen received a Ph.D. and Master of Science from the SIMM, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a B.S. in Radiochemistry from Fudan University. He completed postdoctoral research at Institute Biologie Physico-Chimique in Paris.
